Bright House Networks Starts Crime-Stopper Program
Michigan employees begin operation "Bright Eyes"
Livonia, MI, May 23, 2007
The areas that cable TV provider Bright House Networks of Michigan service will soon be safer places to live, thanks to a new neighborhood watch program being launched by Bright House Networks of Michigan.
Operation Bright Eyes, beginning Wednesday, May 23, will enable Bright House Networks field service representatives and other employees to easily identify suspicious behavior and to quickly report criminal activities to the proper authorities. BHN of Michigan currently provides service to Farmington, Farmington Hills, Livonia, Novi and Redford Township.
"We know that crime is a concern to the residents of the communities we serve," said Bob McCann, president of Bright House Networks of Michigan. "Our new Operation Bright Eyes program will enable our employees to be additional eyes and ears for our neighborhoods and hopefully will make a difference in fighting crime and help keep residents safer."
More than 100 Bright House employees will receive crime-watch training from Dan DiBardino, board member of Crime Stoppers of Michigan and partner of Recon Management Group, a leading security consulting and protective services firm based in Bingham Farms. Every employee will also be equipped with a comprehensive list of emergency numbers to call should they witness a crime.
BHN of Michigan employee Operation Bright Eyes training will begin in mid-May and will continue throughout the year. The goal is to have 100 percent employee participation in the program by the end of 2007.
"We are going to equip Bright House Networks' employees with the additional skills needed to know what to do if they were ever in a situation where they witnessed a crime or suspicious behavior," said Dan DiBardino, partner of Recon Management Group. "This is a great program and it will ultimately benefit, not only the customers of Bright House of Michigan, but all of the communities that the company services."
