Bright House Networks to Boost Broadband High Speed by 40%

High-Speed Enhancements for Online Customers

Livonia, MI, April 10, 2006

Bright House Networks online customers are able to connect with friends and relatives even more quickly, and travel the Internet faster than ever starting today.

Residential customers of Road Runner High Speed Online and customers using other ISPs provided by Bright House Networks – including EarthLink High Speed Internet, and AOL for Broadband – will enjoy a maximum download speed of 7 megabits per second (mbps). The maximum upload speed, the rate at which e-mail and digital files can be sent, is 512 kilobits per second (kbps). Those speeds are increasing from maximum downloads of 5 mbps and uploads of 384 kbps. That’s 125 times faster than dial up and 5 times faster than DSL.

"This service enhancement is the perfect way to express to our customers our appreciation for their loyalty to our service," said Bob McCann, president of Bright House Networks Detroit division.

The new speeds will be delivered at no additional cost to Bright House Networks customers. The upgrade represents yet another enhancement for users of Bright House Networks high speed Internet service, who saw their speed increase from 3 mbps to 5 mbps in January 2005.

"Our customers will now be able to surf the Internet twice as fast as they were able to about a year ago," said McCann. "This speed enhancement is part of our ongoing commitment to meet our customers’ needs while also providing superior value and service."

In addition, the speed for our Premium service has increased from 8 Mbps/512 to 10 Mbps/1M. Bright House Networks offers customers the option of upgrading to its Premium Service This Tier will be enhanced to include Home Networking service at no additional monthly charge. The regular installation charges for Home Networking will apply. Current Premium Tier customers who have Bright House Networks Home Networking will see this change in their next bill statement.

The regular enhancements to Bright House Networks high-speed service are made possible because of the superior design of the company’s fiber-rich network. The network allows for the rapid, seamless deployment of services that benefit customers and provide for immediate access to the latest in entertainment and information offerings.
